Shanna Combs, MD, is an Obstetrician and Gynecologist who holds a faculty appointment as an
Assistant Professor with the UNT Health Science Center in Fort Worth, Texas. Dr. Combs initially started
out as a ballet dancer and received her undergraduate degree in ballet from Texas Christian University in
Fort Worth, Texas. After pursuing a career in ballet, Dr. Combs made the transition to her lifelong
ambition of a career in medicine. Dr. Combs received her medical degree from University of New
Mexico School of Medicine in Albuquerque, New Mexico. She then returned to Fort Worth, TX where
she completed her residency training in Obstetrics and Gynecology at John Peter Smith Hospital.
As an Obstetrician and Gynecologist, Dr. Combs treats women in all phases of life including
initial adolescent care, obstetrical care, contraception, gynecologic care (including annual exams,
fibroids, PCOS, endometriosis), as well as the transition into menopause. Dr. Combs also has an interest
in minimally invasive surgery including the Da Vinci surgical system as well as office hysteroscopic
Dr. Combs is board eligible in the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology (ABOG) and is a
junior fellow in the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology (ACOG). Dr. Combs is fluent in
English and Spanish.
